Universal Dental Spa Offers Dental Crowns in Orlando

Sometimes cavities are too large to be covered with traditional fillings. Unfortunately, they must be filled. When Universal Dental Spa has a patient who has a cavity that exceeds the size of a filling, we must use a dental crown. Orlando patients don’t need to worry; crowns don’t result in significant changes to your eating habits. We also use crowns to help protect a tooth after a root canal, strengthen a weakened tooth, and cover any discoloring. Regardless of the circumstances, our dental team has the experience and compassion to make the experience as calming and relaxing as possible. Patients who have come to us for veneers, Zoom! Whitening, and other services can attest to our professionalism.

We Keep You Updated on Every Facet of the Procedure

Installing a dental crown isn’t a complicated process, but it will probably require two visits to Universal Dental Spa. That’s because several steps must be taken to place a crown over a tooth. We believe in educating our patients before each procedure. We want you to feel comfortable and understand the ins and outs of any procedure we perform. Here’s what you can expect:

  • We remove the outer portion of your tooth. This allows the crown to fit. Sometimes we have to add tooth structure to ensure a snug fit.
  • Our dental team makes an impression of your tooth. We use state-of-the-art technology to create a precise measurement of the tooth’s size and dimensions.
  • In some cases, we place a temporary crown on your tooth. Fabrication of the real crown takes some time. Keep in mind hot and cold food may be too sensitive and you should avoid chewing gum until you have your permanent crown.
  • Once the new crown is ready, Dr. Vergara places it on the tooth. It may require some adjustments.
